Conveniently placed across the courtyard from the Roth Bar & Grill and set at the heart of Hauser & Wirth Somerset is Durslade Farmhouse. The six-bedroom farmhouse is available to rent for mid-week, weekend and longer stays, overlooking the historic town of Bruton and perfectly situated to explore the Somerset countryside.
Sleeping twelve guests, each elegant bedroom has its own private bathroom and is full of character and bold innovative twists, complete with unique artworks from Hauser & Wirth artists and furnished with fine Egyptian cotton bedding. Downstairs there is a large extensively equipped kitchen, a lounge and study, as well as an outside private terrace and dining facilities.
Durslade Farmhouse dates back to the 18th century and has been sensitively restored by architect Luis Laplace, celebrating the natural antiquity of the building by combining original fittings with unexpected interiors and vintage furniture, all sourced from our favourite Somerset shops and salvage yards. The interior features installation artworks by two of Hauser & Wirth’s artists. Guillermo Kuitca has created a specially commissioned painted mural for the four walls of the dining room, and Pipilotti Rist, who spent twelve months living in Bruton, has produced a mesmerising video installation. The unique work projects the Somerset landscape onto the walls of the sitting room through a chandelier of found objects and glass.
The Roth Bar & Grill offers catering for the duration of your stay upon request, with ingredients sourced from local suppliers and Durslade Farm, as well as being on hand to accommodate celebratory meals and seasonal cocktails upon arrival in the main dining room. All meals are cooked, served and cleared away, with no need to lift a finger.
