A Celebration of Summer Bounty from Field, Forest & Fire

In collaboration with Sorn Dining, Roth On The Road are delighted to present A Celebration of Summer Bounty from Field, Forest and Fire, a revelrous summer lunch in the woods of Wiltshire.
The feast will be held in a beautiful location in the woods of the Fonthill Estate, near Tisbury, overlooking the Fonthill Lake. Guests will witness the theatre of outdoor fire cooking, be able to indulge in summer drinks while bathed in nature and enjoy a seated banquet that will continue long into the afternoon.
The lunch will be a celebration of seasonal and ethically sourced produce that will all be local to Wiltshire and Somerset, coming our Farm and Kitchen Garden as well as produce foraged directly from Fonthill Estate.

The feast will take place in Quarry wood, on a lawn overlooking the Fonthill Lake. This private woodland was once a favourite picnic spot of the great William Beckford and guests will see the magnificent stone landing stage used by his boatmen for ferrying guests across the lake for summer lunches.
The long tables will offer views of the lake and the chefs working the fires in front of the grottos, also built by Beckford. The afternoon will be a fabulous opportunity to enjoy an otherwise inaccessible location, surrounded by summer foliage, wildlife and full of history.

What is the timing for the event?
We request that guests arrive at 1 PM so they can enjoy a short walk to the location and enjoy the surroundings before being seated for lunch.
Is alcohol served at the event?
Guests will be served a complimentary drink on arrival and there will be a bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks which accepts cash or card.
Is this event suitable for children?
We highly encourage everyone to bring their families. This event is a joyous celebration of summer, the only thing to consider is that there will be a seated feast so it is best to bear in mind that very young children may get restless!
What if I have a dietary requirement?
This lunch will be celebrating the local produce of Wiltshire and Somerset and will include dairy, meat, game and gluten. Please let us know of any dietary requirements you or a guest has and we will work to make sure you can join us for this celebration.

The event is taking place a very short way from Tisbury that has regular trains to and from London. There are also a number of local taxi companies that know the area and can easily take guests to the site. Here is a list:

What are my parking options?
There will be private parking right next to the event where a parking attendant will guide you to a space.
This is an outdoor event that includes a very short walk along the lake to the site. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes for the walk
