Open Farm Sunday

Sunday 9th June, 11 AM – 4 PM

This June, we will be joining over 1,000 farms across the UK in Open Farm Sunday, an annual initiative celebrating the diversity of British farming and the many ways in which the countryside can be farmed, foraged, and maintained. It is a fantastic opportunity for families to discover first hand what it means to be a farmer, where our food comes from, and how to nurture and live in harmony with the land. This year’s particular focus will be exploring where our food comes from.

Beyond the site of the gallery, Durslade is a working farm and this special free event will celebrate our locale, with tractor and trailer rides across the farm where children and their families can meet the animals and learn all about our vineyard. Visitors will have the opportunity to sample and learn more about the diverse produce originating from the farm, including Durslade Farm cider and apple juice made from over 40 varieties of apples, as well as honey.

There will be a display of vintage tractors as well as new farm machinery for families to discover and explore, such as combine harvesters, John Deere and Fendt tractors.

We will be serving a Durslade Farm BBQ feast throughout the event, including sugar pit beef, hot dogs and roasted chickpea kitchen salad, with gingerbread biscuits available for children. The outdoor bar will be serving a selection of hot drinks, soft drinks and cocktails.

This is a free event and all are welcome.

Details on our programme for the day will be announced soon.
