Open Farm Sunday

Sunday 12 June, 11am – 4pm

This June, we will be joining over 1,000 farms across the UK in Open Farm Sunday, an annual initiative celebrating British farming and the many ways in which the countryside can be farmed, foraged, and maintained.

Beyond the site of Hauser & Wirth Somerset, Durslade is a working farm, and our visitors will have the opportunity to sample and learn more about its produce including our free-range beef and lamb. There will be butchery and sheep shearing demonstrations, and vintage tractors will be on display.

Our local suppliers will also be onsite and we’ll be serving our new summer cup cocktail and seasonal food from our fires.

In collaboration with the Somerset Wildlife Trust, Hauser & Wirth Somerset invite you to explore the woodland surrounding Durslade Farm with nature trails led by the SWT and to join them in the Implement Shed for drop-in family workshops. Inspired by Henry Moore and the landscape surrounding Durslade Farm, we will be creating our own maquettes for outdoor sculptures.

This is a free event and all are welcome – advance registration needed.

Wild Walks With Our Foraging Expert

As part of Open Farm Sunday celebrations, our in-house foraging experts will also be taking groups on ‘Wild Walks’, exploring foraged finds in the hedgerows and nearby woodland. The walks will take place between 12 – 1pm and 2 – 3pm, and we’d recommend wearing suitable outdoor clothing. Meet outside Durslade Farm Shop ahead of the walk.

The walks are free – advance registration needed.
