Open Source Salon

Open Source Salon with Matilda Temperley
Wednesday 23 August, 6.30 PM

Lions, Exotic Dancers, and Somerset Floods – oh my!

Join us on 23 August for a look into the fascinating world of the award-winning and fearless photographer Matilda Temperley as she takes us through her practice of capturing stories – including her decade-long collaboration with a lion tamer, wading though the floods in Somerset, and getting to know the marginalised societies in Ethiopia to Las Vegas. Temperley will also give us a sneak preview of her next project featuring circus, burlesque and performance artists.

On the night she will be joined by writer Charman Griffin who is working on the interviews for Temperley’s forthcoming book, and Griffin will share a selection of exclusive extracts from the publication.

As always – questions and participation from the audience is welcomed, and on the night, Temperley will invite all guests to contribute to a project in progress.

Open Source Salon is a discussion group for like-minded creatives and enthusiasts who meet monthly to exchange ideas, hear special guest speakers, and enjoy local food and drink. Each salon consists of a specially invited speaker who will share their unique knowledge and experience on one of the four key themes at the heart of Hauser & Wirth Somerset – Art, Architecture, Landscape, Food. Open Source Salon is a collaboration between Hauser & Wirth Somerset and the Roth Bar & Grill
