Pumpkin Festival

Sunday 27th October,

11 AM – 4 PM

Join us to celebrate summer’s bounty at our annual Pumpkin Festival.

Throughout the year we have been growing our very own pumpkins, alongside several different varieties of squash, on a patch in Durslade Walled Garden, located opposite the gallery. Come along to the Pumpkin Festival and share your homegrown harvest with us as we look forward to autumn.

The special day will include many activities for adults, children and families including games, storytelling performances, face painting, talks and workshops. Live music will be performed throughout the event by some of the South’s most talented acts.

You are invited to bring along your homegrown pumpkins, squash or gourds and enter them into the following competitions:

The Grand Pumpkin & Squash Competition

The popular competition returns to the festival this year and will be judged by local resident and renowned gardener, Charles Dowding. The categories are: ‘Heaviest Pumpkin’ or ’Best in Show’, the winner of each receiving a £500 cash prize. The winning pumpkin in the ‘Misfit’ category will receive a goody bag.

Enter The Grand Pumpkin & Squash Competition ahead of the festival here, or bring along your pumpkins on the day. Competition entries should be on site by 12 pm.

The Baking Competition

Bring along your home-made pumpkin or squash-inspired dish. The competition will be judged by Roth Bar & Grill Executive Chef Steve Horrell and the winner will receive a lunch for four at The Bull Inn, Hardaway. Competition entries should be on site by 11 am.

Roth Bar & Grill will be serving seasonal food and drink, harvested from their kitchen garden.

This is a free event, but registering is recommended.
